Come to the Western Farm Show to Learn About Alternative Energy Sources and Technology

Feb. 19-21, the Western Farm Show http://www.westernfarmshow.com/ will feature the latest innovations in agriculture and machinery, and highlight alternative energy solutions. The 49th annual Western Farm Show will be held at the American Royal Complex in Kansas City, Mo., from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday

This year the Western Farm Show features the Food and Fuel Forum http://www.westernfarmshow.com/attendee/FoodandFuelForum.html sponsored by Missouri Farmer Today http://www.missourifarmertoday.com/ The Forum will feature keynote speakers, discussing how farmers provide food, fuel and energy solutions to a growing population, and a roundtable with experts in biomass, ethanol, government regulations and wind energy. The Forum will be held from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., on Friday, Feb. 19 and again from 9:30 to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20.

Congressman Ike Skelton hosted a visit by th U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, Tom Vilsack to the Show Me Energy Cooperative Biomass Energy plant in Centerview, MO on August 21, 2009.

The Secretary recognized that the Centerview plant produces an advanced biofuel, continuing development of the project as they improve upon their biomass pellet plant.
