Washington Sends a Distinguished Guest to

Show Me Energy Cooperative

On Wednesday, the 29th of August, the board of directors and Show Me Energy personnel, along with a few investors, builders, and suppliers, were pleased to greet Senator Claire McCaskill (Dem.-Missouri) on a fact finding tour of our Centerview facility.

Senator McCaskill, Steve Flick, and others viewed the DVD that was shown at all equity drive meetings earlier this year.

Senator McCaskill listened to comments from several of those in attendance before asking her own questions-all of which indicated she had done her homework and had an excellent grasp of current energy policy.

Leaving the office (and the cool weather) behind, the Senator’s party looked at Missouri biomass before going to the warehouse to view the test lab in action.

Brian Pierson, in brown cap next to pellet mill, demonstrated for the Senator and her guests how pellets are being tested currently and provide a small scale forecast of the actual process to be used once the main building is constructed.

The visit of Senator McCaskill helped to remind everyone present that Show Me Energy Cooperative is on the mind of legislators in Washington as they attempt to help America solve its energy problems, both now and in the future.
