June 24th, 2009

DSCF1200

Dr. Jon Hagler, the Director of Agriculture for the State of Missouri visited the Show Me Energy Cooperative plant on June 22, 2008 to present a check to the Coop in the amount of $30,580 from the Missouri Agricultural and Small Business Development Authority (MASBDA).

The check represents a grant awarded to Show Me Energy for a value-added product development. During the course of running the plant to make biomass energy pellets, management discovered another possible product.

Hagler said he is visiting businesses around the state that have received the value-added grants “to highlight some of the good things being done” in agriculture.

The grants encourage innovation, he said, and give producers the opportunity to study a project and receive professional help “to get off on the right foot” without risking a lot.
